Monthly Resolutions, March.

Hey Hey Heyyyyy –

I’m just going to jump straight into this post as I would like it to be short n sweet!

This month I gave myself a lovely little resolution, for those of you who didn’t know; the 20th of March (2017) was the ‘International Day of Happiness‘ !!

I thought to myself, happiness begins with yourself, if you are not happy with who you are or if you do not love yourself, how are you supposed to love anybody else? This month was all about self love.

Now, I am not implying that you need to be ‘in love‘ with yourself (you do you if so), as narcissism and self love are two completely different things.

” A significant difference between a narcissist and someone who has self-love is their ability to tell reality from fantasy. Narcissists are often not grounded in reality and they are oblivious to their imperfections or weaknesses. They embellish their strengths and have an inflated sense of worth and self-importance. Their view of themselves is rarely established with real achievements or merit.

People with self-love, on the other hand, can distinguish between what they really are and what they fantasize or dream of becoming. They know their limits and their strengths, admit their weaknesses, and have a realistic sense of their achievements. This is in contrast to the narcissist who lives in a world of daydreaming, pretending, and delusions of grandeur. ”  – click here for credited article –

A few tiny things I implemented into my daily life would have been:

  1. Waking up some mornings and looking into the mirror, thinking and reading a few of my favourite ‘ positive affirmations ‘ .
  2. Pamper myself; why not? I would run myself a bath with a bath bomb, radox bubble bath and pop on a face-mask. I (at least) once a week had a pamper night, I did the works- tan, new bed sheets and even some treats!
  3. Go for a walk, listen to some music – honestly taking a step back from life and zoning out (even for just an hour) has a massive impact but not only your physical, but your mental health too!
  4. Naps —————————— my golden word, my favourite word- I feel like this is quite self-explanatory, you get my jiist.

I know you may feel there are not enough hours in the day but there is and there will always be a fifteen minute space in the day to just be on your own and take some time out – even if that means in the shower – blast the music up and have a one man show in the bathroom.

When using this time, cherish and enjoy every second because I do not mean that ‘me-time’ counts as all day every-day because that is just un-productive so don’t abuse the power.

This post really is just a reminder that you are incredibly invaluable! who you are, what you stand for and the features you have are so so so special and there is always one person out there in this world that sees that, although you may not know it.

Ok so we are not perfect and I’m sure there are elements that we own that we wish we did not, some of us perhaps wish to swap with another but this was the canvas you were given so just to embrace it.

Until my next post,

Alisha X
